AUTOMATED COST-EFFICIENT DATA COLLECTION OF ACCURATE SMALLHOLDER FARM BOUNDARIES

How might we map smallholder farm boundaries with high accuracy in a scalable and cost-effective manner?

What We Are Looking For

Thryve Innovation CoLab is looking for a solution that can collect farm boundary data of smallholder farms less than 2 hectares in size, with the intention to enable Yara to deliver enhanced product and service offerings with more targeted, timely insights (e.g. on soil and nutrient use efficiency), and at lower cost to smallholder farmers. The collected data is intended to be synthesised with Yara’s existing datasets (e.g., farm size, map coordinates, past purchases) to develop a more accurate farmer profile. Solvers may also propose entirely new solutions and technologies that are not built upon Yara’s existing in-house apps and/or are from different industries with technology that is transferrable to the agricultural industry.
